History of company

In order to assist legal entities in attracting foreign investments to applied scientific developments, industry and education the Association of Business Cooperation "Belfortex" was established in the Republic of Belarus by the decree of the Council of Ministers of the Belarussian SSR No.320 of June 12, 1991.

After the collapse of the USSR the Association was re-organized into BELFORTEX Limited Liability Company, which has become its successor and since 1994 it has been a company of collective property.

During the period from 1991 till 1996 we realized several big national economic projects. The major of them are:

1991-1993 - establishment and construction in Minsk of Belarussian-German Trade Joint Venture Trade House upon "Nemiga". At present it is one of the largest trade centers of the Republic of Belarus with more than 1000 employees. Belfortex Ltd., the Committee of State Property of Minsk Executive Committee and the company "S. Hartmann" are the co-owners of this enterprise.

The International Institute of Labor and Social Relations with its branches in the regions of the country was established on the basis of this course in Minsk in 1995. Today the Institute is an independent non-state educational institution that carries out training of specialists for the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries.

In 1995 Belfortex Ltd. participated in the CITEF-95 Aerospace exhibition in Toulouse, France. Apart from exhibiting our products, our managers were solving the task of organizing the display of all Belarussian enterprises.

Since 1996 high technologies have become the priority direction of the activities of Belfortex Ltd. This work is being performed in cooperation with scientific groups of the Republic of Belarus, Russia and some foreign countries;

1996-2002 - a Complex of Mathematical Models for optimizing combat operations of the Air Force (AF) and Air Defense (AD) was developed and is now in use by the Ministry of Defense. Belfortex Ltd. in cooperation with the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus carries out research and experimental work on developing special mathematical software for military purpose control systems.

1997-2002 - special equipment for antiterrorist operations was manufactured and put into service by special units. This program is being implemented on the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

1997-2002 - the program of promoting domestic technologies and know-how to international markets was worked out and is now being implemented in cooperation with the country well-known scientific and production groups (Belarussian State Polytechnic Academy, Minsk State Institute of Radio Materials, Belarussian State University for Information Science and Radio Electronics, etc.). This program presupposes a coordinated work of scientific organizations of the Republic of Belarus and other countries on developing new types of products in compliance with the technical requirements of the customer. This work is fulfilled within the Research and Technology Center to be established on the customer territory. The infrastructure for R&D and experimental base, training of customer specialists and know-how transfer is provided by the Belarussian side.

In September, 2000 our site www.belfortex.com appeared.

In June, 2001 we celebrated our 10th anniversary.

In May, 2001 we took part in the MILEX-2001 international exhibition of armaments and military equipment.

In March, 2002 we executed the contract on delivery special equipment for antiterrorist activities to the football world championship in South Korea.

In June, 2002 a complex of mathematical models (combat operations simulation complex) for optimizing combat operations of the AF and AD troops, developed by the Belfortex Ltd. specialists, was successfully employed during the Berezina-2002 military exercises of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.

In February, 2003 Belfortex Ltd. took part in the 5-day exhibition in New Delhi, which was held within the Days of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of India.

In March, 2003 Belfortex Ltd. presented its products at the IDEX-2003 6th International defense exhibition in Abu-Dabi (The United Arab Emirates)

In March, 2003 a new version of our site appeared.

In May, 2003 Belfortex Ltd. took part in the MILEX-2003 International Exhibition of Arms and Military Engineering.



In September, 2003 the AF and AD troops specialists started to learn how to work with the complex of models of combat operations, which was developed by Belfortex Ltd., in the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus.




In October, 2003 the complex of models of combat operations, which was developed by Belfortex Ltd. specialists, was used in practice during the Clear Sky-2003 integrative operative military exercises.

2005

- State tests and adoption of "Simulation system of the Air Force and Air Defense groupings efficiency" software by Ministry of Defense units.

- Development of the software to train and test cadets in the field of fire fighting and solving man-caused emergency problems (the product is designed for the Emergency Situations Ministry).

2006

- Development of Air Force and Air Defense groupings combat operations simulation models software based on the multiprocessor calculating system in the frameworks of the programme of CIS countries "Development and introduction of science-intensive computer technologies on the basis of multiprocessor calculating systems in the CIS states". This is a joint project involving Military Academy of the RB and National Academy of Sciences.

- Development of the software for processing cartographic information to study area tactical characteristics and solve combat tasks in counteraction to precision weapons.

- "Svisloch-1" simulation system met operational testing and was adopted by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of document DM RB №898 of 21 November.

2007

- There has been developed a special training course on simulation system for the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus (RB). Simulation system is installed in Academy departments.

- There has been completed the work on special software to process cartographic information. The customer has been shown soft- and hardware complex model for different purposes:

 

  • to find out an optimal route of the units movement on maneuver taking into account the criteria system of making up quasi-optimal transportation schedule;
  • to classify and choose the area to deploy military objects on the basis of appropriate characteristics. The results have been recommended to the Ministry of Defense of the RB.

- There has been developed special software for fire fighting and solving man-caused emergency problems. This software was designed and developed for Emergency Situations Ministry (ESM). This software is successfully applied in the training process at the Commanding and Engineering Institute (educational establishment) of the ESM of the RB.

- Ministry of Defense uses a renovated "Svisloch-1" simulation system.

- Ministry of Defense has been supplied with the counter reconnaissance means efficiency assessment software.

- The company exhibited the products at MILEX - 2007 IV International Military Exhibition. Situational modeling center (a joint product of BELFORTEX, RB Academy of Sciences) was introduced.

2008

The company has started the modernization of "Fort" combat operations simulation system. Analytical material for the development of the situational modeling, complex warfare games and new working out in the field of warfare computer games, as well as decision support systems, has been prepared and presented to some interested state organizations.

The company is developing a new light-weight vehicle for transporting explosives.

2009

The Company started to develop special software in the framework of R&D work “Development of Automated Decision Support System for Frontier Post Commander” (code – “Decision”) on behalf of State Military Industrial Committee.
Belfortex Ltd. participated in 5th International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery and presented its products. 
A software product model was developed to analyze application efficiency of Air Defence (AD) and Army Air Defence (AAD) units in the struggle with cruise missiles during combat operations preparations and planning.
Training and testing software to carry out fire fighting was adopted by universities of Emergency Control Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and set up at more than 100 work stations.Software simulation model complex for AD and AAD combat operations (code “BF triad”) was tested and delivered to the Customer.

2010

The main areas of work were the following:

  • continuation of special software development on behalf of State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus;
  • increase in software capabilities of “Fort” and development  of HLA-like “Fort-2” technology on its base;
  • fulfillment of the component part of R&D work on model development for military units of different level to guarantee combat operation simulation.

2011

The main areas of work were the following:

  • the development was finished and special software was put into use in the framework of State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus;
  • software development based on the proprietary HLA-like “Fort-2” technology and registration of special program complex implementing the technology in National Center of Intellectual Property;
  • the development of modernized Fort Mathematical Model Complex for Military Grouping Efficiency Assessment and its delivery to the Customer;
  • beginning of the development of Space Manager System Elements;
  • beginning of the development of special software in the framework of the Ministry of transport and communications of the Republic of Belarus;
  • participation in 6th International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery;
  • cooperation with Minsk supervisory authorities on the question of development of special software in the framework of Municipal engineering.
